Chai Society
The Chai Society at Temple Beth Am was created in the 1974-1975 year to give special status to long time members of the congregation.
As a result, members who have completed eighteen years of affiliation with the congregation are automatically admitted to the Chai Society. They receive a special dues rate and the Society has several functions during each year. The first, in the fall, starts off the year. This is followed by a Chanukah party in December. We do not usually have any activities during the winter months as many of our members are out of the area. In the spring we return to activities and conclude the year with our paid up brunch in June.
Chai contributes to several school and confirmation functions during the year, but we do not act as a fund raising or service arm of the Temple. We participate in leading alternate summer services with the Temple Board and the other arms.
