posted Jan 16, 2018, 6:28 PM by Beth Am Webmaster   [ updated May 10, 2018, 6:53 PM by David Plass ]

How does G-d speak to me? Were the prophets really able t9o look into the future? Why do we light candles on Shabbat? When Grandma died, where did she go?

Have your children ever asked you these questions and you were unable or unsure how to answer? Have you ever asked similar questions about Judaism?

Join me for a 4 part adult ed class covering topics such as the Jewish view of G-d, The Hebrew Bible, Jewish practices, holidays, anti-Semitism, death and why are we different.

While each part can be a “stand alone” segment, I encourage you to join me for all 4 parts.

Monday February 12th 7:30 - 9:00pm

    What’s in the Hebrew Bible?

Wednesday March 14th 7:30 – 9:00pm ** NOTE NEW DATE **

Is it true you never became
a Bar/Bat Mitzvah?
You’re not alone!
It’s never too late to celebrate
your Jewish coming of age!
Many adults at Temple Beth Am never had the opportunity to become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and several have asked me to start a new adult B’nei Mitzvah class.
If you are interested, there will be an informational meeting about the class on Monday November 27th at 7:30pm.  We will meet in the sanctuary.
At that time, I will discuss all aspects of this wonderful opportunity to participate in this awesome and fulfilling journey.
Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.

"The Four Questions" Adult Ed Apr 14

posted Mar 22, 2016, 6:28 AM by Beth Am Webmaster   [ updated Apr 17, 2016, 5:31 PM by David Plass ]

Dear Beth Am family,

One of the main themes of Passover are the 4 questions that are asked… but do not be mistaken, there are still many other questions to be asked and lessons to be learned!

Join me on Thursday April 14th from 7:30 - 9:00 pm in the Youth Lounge.

Come and learn some amusing and fascinating questions you never thought about or perhaps always wanted to ask, but never did!
Have fun this Passover, entertain and enlighten your guests around the Seder table.

Rabbi Mickey
