Temple Beth Am, over the years of its existence, has established many different funds that are used to support programs and services that are not part of our operating budget. Congregants are encouraged to make contributions into these funds to acknowledge or celebrate different life-cycle events. Fund will provide money for supplies and music to enhance our Temple music program and to periodically enable the congregation to enjoy guest personalities bringing us music from our vast musical heritage, as well as more contemporary music. Library Fund For the acquisition of books, periodicals and other materials to augment the library collection and to repair and replace the library materials. For the purchase or rental of supplies, furnishings, or equipment used in connection with library programs or activities. For the payment of membership dues in local and national library organizations. Prayerbook Fund For the purchase, repair and replacement of prayerbooks. Moe Cooper Social Action Fund Fund started by Irwin Cooper in memory of his father. To be used for those in need regardless of religion, race, political background or age. It is the intent of this fund to teach the value of social action by encouraging Temple members to be involved in Tikum Olan - Reform Judaism's commitment to the less fortunate. Temple Beth Am Scholarship Fund The Temple Beth Am Scholarship Fund provides our Temple/Youth Group students with financial aid to encourage their participation in activities and events aimed at increasing their awareness of their Jewish identity and heritage and to foster qualities that will provide Jewish communities with leadership in the future. Lori Rogers Confirmation Fund This annual award is awarded to a Confirmand or Confirmands who manifest devotion, loyalty to Judaism, courage and concern for their fellow human beings. Louis and Sadie Shaffel Confirmation Fund The Schaffel Award was established in their memory and to memorialize the fine Jewish values reflected in their lives. The award is presented at Confirmation to a 10th grade student(s) whose attitude and record reflects such traditional values. Scott Leventhal Chavurah Fund For 11-12 grade students for Jewish educational, cultural and social purposes according to the recommendation of the director of education, school chairman and Rabbi or Cantor. Building Fund To help fund the general operations of the temple. Jaffe/Friedman Youth Scholarship Fund For students or youth group members in furtherance of Judaically oriented school activity, including instructional materials and attendance at seminars, camps and conferences. Rabbi Brown's Children Fund Established by Barbi and Reuven Yellin and Phyllis and Leon Charash for the advancement of children's appreciation of their heritage, at the discretion of Rabbi Brown. Howard Ehrlich Congregational Crisis Fund An interest free loan to Temple Beth Am members who are experiencing financial need. Such requests should be made to Rabbi Brown and will remain anonymous. Jim and Janet Neiman Landscapting Beautification Fund Used to enhance and beautify the gardens surrounding the Temple. Yahrzeit Fund Used to commemmorate the Yahrzeit of loved ones. |
