Coronavirus/COVID-19 Announcements - UPDATED 3/29

(Sent to the congregation March 29; please see above, for older [possibly obsolete] announcements)

Dear Congregants,

Based on developments over the last several weeks, we are updating our Coronavirus response plans as of today, March 29 2020 as follows:

Temple Beth Am Coronavirus Response Procedures (as of 3/29/2020):
  • The office, school and building remain closed, per state mandate.

  • ALL Friday evening and Saturday Shabbat morning services are still suspended until further notice.

  • ALL other meetings and social events at the temple as well as ALL parties/facility rentals are still suspended until further notice.

  • We will continue to conduct “Virtual video Shabbat” services and are looking into expanding this to Facebook Live.

  • The Rabbi and Cantor are still available for ritual matters and personal needs via email, phone or Zoom. You may contact them directly with any urgent matters.

  • Religious school for our Hebrew school students is being conducted remotely in one-on-one calls via telephone with the teachers.

  • Additional remote programming is being looked into for our adults and students.

  • If you call the office, please leave a detailed message and we will get back to you as quickly as possible; we are also monitoring and responding to emails throughout the day.

  • The Cantor is continuing to conduct all Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons remotely.

  • You may continue to make payments via www.paytba.com or via U.S. postal mail.

Please know that we are closely following official guidance to help decide when it will be safe to re-open the office, building, school and to resume religious services in our sanctuary.

Stay safe and stay healthy,
