Coronavirus/COVID-19 Announcements - UPDATED 6/11

(Sent to the congregation June 11; please see above, for older [possibly obsolete] announcements)

Dear Congregants,

The COVID-19 pandemic made these past few months challenging for everyone. Thankfully, the commitment and dedication of our clergy, staff, volunteers, and teachers allowed us to provide ongoing spiritual, educational, and emotional continuity to our members. Please know we are working hard to prepare our Synagogue and religious school to return to more familiar operations over the coming weeks and months. While it remains unclear today how things will look short term, we are committed to being there for you regardless of our ability to congregate in large groups.

We know many of you have been watching and enjoying the “Virtual Services” that Rabbi Baum and Cantor Rosenfeld have been posting on social media. We are currently planning to begin a “soft reopening” of our building and to resume “on premises” Shabbat Services on Friday evening June 26th in the Sanctuary, with appropriate social distancing and face coverings required. We also plan to begin holding our traditional summer services beginning Friday evening July 3rd. Weather permitting, we may conduct some of the summer services outdoors. Again, we ask everyone attending to bring and wear a face covering and practice safe social distancing.

Please continue to watch your email for additional updated information about services and our phased reopening plans.

We are about to begin our third year under the “Give from the Heart” pledge model, which replaced our prior fixed membership dues structure. We are pleased to report this model has been a success as we saw our Congregation grow by over 20%!

At this time, we are asking for your membership pledge for the 2020-2021 fiscal year which begins in July. We are hoping everyone will consider contributing at least the “Sustaining Amount” of $1,900. The Sustaining Amount represents the average amount needed from each congregant (member family) for the temple to operate within a balanced budget. Some of you will be able to give more, and for that the temple will be especially grateful. As a reminder, your membership affiliation includes high-holiday admission for the primary adults and children through age 26 in your household, as well as access to our clergy for lifecycle events, participation in all religious services and various temple programming throughout the year. Every Pledge, no matter the amount, is appreciated. This gift reaffirms your commitment and your continued affiliation with our synagogue.

You should be receiving your physical pledge card in the mail within the next few days. Please consider increasing your pledge this year. We ask that you complete and return your card as soon as it arrives so we can incorporate your pledge into your July invoice. You may also submit your pledge and payment preference now by visiting our online portal at www.paytba.com and choosing the “2020-2021 Give From the Heart Membership Pledge” button. You will be able to enter your full annual pledge amount and choose your payment frequency preference (single payment, quarterly, or monthly payments) directly on this website. Or simply click here to make your annual 2020-2021 pledge online now.

Sincerely,

Michael Krassner & Elizabeth Roth
Co-Presidents

P.S. Please note that all other temple fees including school tuition, Bar/Bat Mitzvah fees, Arms, Building Fund, etc. will continue to be shown separately from your pledge amount, which replaces only the previous dues. If you would like to set those up on installments as well, please contact the temple office.
