(Sent to the congregation March 13, 2020)

Dear Beth Am family,

This message is an update to the email we sent out yesterday (March 12.) [http://www.templebethammerrick.org/home/coronavirus-covid-19-announcement]

Based on updated information we’ve been learning about preventive measures being taken elsewhere within Nassau County and elsewhere around the country over the past 24 hours, we have decided to temporarily suspend both our Sunday and weekday Hebrew School classes for all students effective immediately.

This decision was not made as a result of any known cases of coronavirus within our congregation. However, this action is being taken now purely as a precautionary measure; not only to protect our members and students, but also to protect every single person that comes into contact with them.

Hebrew school is scheduled to re-open on Wednesday April 1st and Sunday April 5th.

Further updates will be communicated via temple-wide email and will also be posted on our website www.templebethammerrick.org.

Sincerely,

Rabbi Michael Baum, Rabbi/Educational Director
Cantor Daniel Rosenfeld
Michael Krassner, Co-President
Elizabeth Roth, Co-President
