Mark Spivack (Co-President)
Mark has been a part of our wonderful community for many years. He and his wife Joan joined Sharei Shalom after their marriage in 2004 and continued our involvement when it merged with Temple Beth Am of Merrick and Bellmore. We became more involved with the temple in 2017 after Joan’s trip to Israel with a group from the temple led by Rabbi Mickey.
Over the years, Mark have been a member of Brotherhood, the Social Club, and most recently, VP of Advertising. He is also a passionate theater enthusiast and a devoted fan of the New York Islanders, New York Yankees, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Mark grew up in Hewlett and attended Boston University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. After graduation, he joined his father’s small metal products business and eventually took over. He have been involved in the business for over 40 years.

Liz Gordon (Co-President)
Liz has been an active member of Temple Beth Am for approximately 20 years. She has served as a Board member of Trustees, Vice President and co-President of Sisterhood, Vice President of Ritual, and Chairperson of the Membership and Retention Committee and Fundraising Committee. She has also worked as a teacher for the Torah for Tots program.
Liz and her husband, Adam, try to attend every Friday night Shabbat service. Their children, Owen and Rhiannon, are their pride and joy. They had their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at Temple Beth Am. Owen even traveled to Israel with Rabbi Mickey and his confirmation class.
Liz's vision for Beth Am is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community where every member feels connected, inspired, and empowered to live a meaningful Jewish life. This can be achieved by deepening our engagement with Jewish tradition and expanding our outreach to the community. She invites you all to join her in building a stronger, more connected Temple.
